So things were going great, staying in my calorie totals and working out and then life hit me in the face and today was not so good.
I didn't get home until very late Tuesday night and had so much to do at home that I was up past midnight. Some of it had to do with my cat and instead of getting up at 5:30am to work out like normal I got up got my car back from the shop as soon as they opened and took my cat to the vet. Where I spent two hours while they sedated and operated on him to remove a blockage in his colon. At least they knew what was wrong with him and for that I'm thankful - he's only 2 years old and I was worried.
I know that I have problems with emotional eating and I knew I was upset so I should have held strong especially since I had my calories worked out for the day. But I didn't. I ended up with a coffee, a latte and three donuts while I was waiting. Total food fail.
The good news is that A) my cat is going to be fine and a lot more comfortable now than he was before and B) I looked up the calorie count on the donuts I ate and I can still come close to my calorie count today and reduce tomorrow's to stay on track for the week.
While on errands last night I ran across some Full bars on clearance and some AquaFull too. I bought two boxes of AquaFull (7 packets each) and 4 bars. Basically you are supposed to drink the drink or eat a bar with a glass of water 30 minutes before you eat a meal. It is supposed to fill you up so you eat less. My idea - since I don't eat much at a meal to begin with was to use them as meal replacements or to stave off hunger longer so on my low cal days I can spread my food out longer though out the day. They may have been a waste of money - thank goodness they were super cheap!
So far today I have only had 1 drink and one bar with probably 20+oz of water (the directions say 8 oz). The bar was much more successful it's been an hour and I'm really not getting that hungry. The bar is 160 calories and about 2x as big as a normal granola bar. But it seems to be just puffed rice or wheat which I can get as rice cakes or in a cereal for less calories. I'm not sure yet about the AquaFull. I gulped it down before picking up my car and I scarfed my breakfast in the car on the way to the vet. I don't even know if I waited the 30 minutes, but I don't think I was hungry when I ate those donuts (totally emotional). I will say that it didn't taste very good and it's a whopping 15 calories for a drink - my Propel is only 10 calories and sweet enough that I can put into 32 oz of water.
The days are getting longer here and I am looking forward to being able to run outside again, even though it's also going to suck - I'm out of running shape.
