We heard that all the time in Jamaica. And yes, I did have a good time. We were at a Sandals resort which is adults only, couples and all inclusive. The all inclusive was nice because you never had to worry about carrying money or tipping. That was also bad, because service was not great. The adults only was AWESOME. Hanging out at the beach with no little kids to ruin it was bliss. I think going in a group of couples (we did 2 singles with us who shared a room, but it's not a place to hook up) was definitely more fun than being there on a "romantic" week with my BF. Not that traveling with him isn't nice. But when there's that much booze, and you're just hanging out at the beach, and doing some water sports, having a group was great. It was nice also to always have one person available to sit near beach bags.

The view from my hotel room, not great, but at least it's sun and water. |
I did some research online about my swelling problem. In Jamaica my legs swelled up which was really scary and I believe was an allergic reaction to the bug bites I had, or maybe the bug lotion I used afterward. But when I got home, I got a really swollen abdomen. It was tight and painful, like I'd worked out, but I hadn't. I also had gained more than 10lbs practically overnight. It was also pretty scary for different reasons. I found a forum discussion where a couple people described the exact same symptoms and it seems to be excessive gas and bloating, or IBS. Which makes sense considering the crap I've been eating for 2 weeks. Yesterday I ate a bunch of dried apricots for the potassium (hopefully to push the sodium out of my system) and drank alot of water. I also exercised a little bit (-200 cals) on the stationary bike. The sports bra didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, considering my burn is peeling there. I also kept my calories close to 1400 with mostly healthy foods (a couple of chewy caramels). A little high, but lower considering my days of binging. Today I'm magically down five pounds. Still too heavy. But I can feel some of the tightness in my belly easing. I went and got some Gas X and charcol pills (Gas X says I can only have 4 a day). I am hoping that I will get down to normal soon by going back to my diet of lots of fresh fruit and veg with little junk. No soda for now, and lots of water. I have until Aug 5th to get back into my new dress. But f I don't get back to with in my normal weight range (even if it's the higher end) by Monday, I may have to see a doctor. In case it's something more serious, like PCOS.
I got back to my morning routine today too. I got up at 5:30, did a 30 day shred workout and got ready for work. I walked into the bathroom yesterday shortly after posting and realized how terrible I looked. My hair was unwashed and greasy, my skin bad, my dress all wrinkled. It looked like I had rolled out of bed. And I think it was the kick in the butt that I needed. So, my mini goal for this week is to take pride in how I look. That helped me be more motivated when I got home from work and start cleaning the place up (that and Fed Up's post about her
dinner party - I want to do that!). Got on the stationary bike, washed up, etc. This morning I meant to put on make up, but ran out of time. I did manage to a face mask before my shower and to do my hair. It looks nice today.

I am so proud of you. You get up right back on track and get up so early to work out. And you know what? With all the work you do you should feel good about your looks :)
I am sorry for being a downer on your last post love.
You know- a couple cups of green tea should also help you "cleanse" the body if you have had loads of junk on the trip- just make sure to not have too much.
Have a great day today <3
Glad your swelling is going down! And glad had fun! I did the Negril sandals resort on my honeymoon and it was awesome.
Cally C. - I hear that Negril has a super long, very quiet beach. We didn't get to go check it out it would have been an all day trip and we were having too much fun hanging with friends.
Kitty - Thanks! and No problem, mon! I didn't think you were being a downer, just giving me some much needed perspective. : )
