Day 2 of the diet yesterday and I cheated again. It was just really bad timing. I ate lunch around 2, but was starving by 4:30 when I went to work. I stopped at a grocery store to pick up snacks - of course then I didn't have time to eat them! I picked up a fruit salad, a single soy yogurt, hummus, carrots and diet soda. The hummus is questionable, and the diet soda is not allowed.
So, I still didn't get to eat until 7. I went through the whole fruit salad of strawberries, pineapple, and blueberries (totally allowed), then started on the hummus and carrots. The hummus was awful, so I didn't have much. Didn't feel like the salad I brought because I was running out of time on my break, and I didn't want the yogurt because it was going to be really sweet. So just ate the egg whites I was going to put on my salad.
Of course I was still hungry, but break was almost over so I ended up eating a handful of almonds (big no-no) and 3 savanah smiles (girl scout cookies and a big N-O) that were left in the staff lounge. But, after the almonds I was really not hungry. I finished my diet soda and didn't snack or anything on the way home or before bed.
Today I was determined to do better. So, 1) I ate lunch a little later, and 2) I bulked it up some. I also added more broth and rice to my soup, and ate an apple, carrots, and snap peas peas on the side, 3) ate a small snack before heading in to work at 5. So far so good.
Today looks like:
Breakfast 1/2 C oatmeal and an apple, coffee with splenda, and 1/4 tsp cocoa powder (technically another cheat)
Snack: 1/ banana, and a Silk cherry yogurt - I'm sure the diet only calls for plain yogurt, but I couldn't find non-dairy plain. This was cherry and way too sugary (20g!) but tasty. Felt like I was eating dessert. I am on the hunt for plain non-dairy yogurt tonight.
Lunch: white bean & kale soup w/ rice. carrots, peas, apple
Snack: banana oatmeal cookies with 1/2 banana and 1/2 C oatmeal (since the diet lets me have a whole cup and I rarely use it) which had a relatively small cheat of 1 TBSP raisins (no dried fruit on FS).
Dinner: big salad with greens, carrots, cabbage, peas, peppers, egg whites, cherry tomatoes, FF vinaigrette.
Calorie totals 1212 which is pretty good and I burned more than 500 w/ 30DS and a dance workout.
I didn't need to 2 workouts, but I felt guilty for not having gone running lately (5K in 10 days!), and I didn't want to go out with the snow still on the ground. I may brave it tomorrow if it is warmer.
