Just an example. Not the actual label from anything I got at Popcorn Factory. The highest any of mine was 3 servings or 840 calories for the whole bag. |
Yep. 4 servings in a small bag at 250 each = 1000 calories for the bag! And who sits down to only eat 1/4 of a small ass bag of popcorn? And to be completely honest, I'd much rather have my air popped popcorn with a sprinkle of sea salt and a little olive oil from my Misto. It tastes better, fresher, and doesn't have as many calories. I'm planning on picking up some Nutritional Yeast after work to put on popcorn too. It's gonna be my snack with Supernatural (bought season 7 on dvd for like $15) on Friday night because the BF is out of town visiting his brother. Anyway, to get rid of the temptation I took the whole thing over to the BFs place and put it in his snack cupboard. I rarely over do it on snack foods at his place because he's so good about only eating a small amount. Plus I'm only over there on the weekends. It's like enforced portion control having it over there.
This past weekend one of my friends from my home town that I used to dance with came to visit. I love her dearly, like a little sister, but I was really irritated by the disruption to my routine. And this weird comment she made that sounded like a critique because I'm not exactly the same as I was 4 years ago. It's been so long since I was dancing all night every night, that even though I said I'd go out with her Sat and Sun, bailed on Sunday. My feet were killing me. But you know, it was so much nicer to chill out with BF. We grilled, had some people over and I didn't have to spend 2 hours trying to make myself look presentable for it either. As much as I tried to be good we ended up ordering in pasta on Friday which we paired with a lot of wine, having sushi on Saturday, I had brunch with the BF and a late lunch with my friend on Sunday. Then we split a pastry with her while we were shopping, only to come home to find my BF had baked while we were out. So needless to say I didn't lose any weight over the weekend.
My mom is supposed to be visiting the weekend after Memorial Day too. I know that she'll bring me goodies then too. Her favorite thing to bring me is Sam's club sized tubs of cashews and Brookside Dark Chocolate Pomegranate candies. I really don't want to give in to eating them all
The BF is gone this week visiting family. I had to work (he gets paid vacation days, I don't) so I couldn't go. Which is actually totally fine with me. I actually encouraged him to go. Not because I don't want to spend time with him, but I needed a few days to get back on track.
This week has been good. I've dropped a couple of the weekend weight pounds, and I'm hoping that after memorial day I can have lost my 5 lbs. I will probably have to find a local dealer for my Flip Belt because I seriously want it now!
I went back to my old posts about getting ready for my Jamaican trip. I checked my food journal from back then and I'm basically staying on that. But without as much exercise because my schedule won't allow it. And with a few extra calories. My non-dairy yogurt has a few extra than regular yogurt and I made a mathematical error on my granola thinking it was better than Kashi, which it isn't. I'm going to rectify that at the store today. I had forgotten how good and filling yogurt with berries and granola is. Between that and my chocolate "shake" I've not been feeling overwhelming cravings. I've been going to bed a little hungry each night so that I want breakfast each morning when I get up and that has been good too. I feel like if I'm hungry when I go to bed, the scale will definitely be lower in the morning.
Anyway, that's enough for now. I could keep going - I have some fitness related stuff going on right now too, but I'll put that in a different post to save your eyes.

Life is fun and grand and all but it sure does get in the way of our diet plans. Glad you enjoyed the time with your BF instead of going out when you really didn't want to. I don't blame you!! I love flavored popcorn. That would be so hard to stay away from.
