I was having motivation issues yesterday.
I know that I need to change into work out clothes either, as soon as I get up in the morning or as soon as I get home from work. It is the only way to make sure I am actually going to work out.
I did not do that yesterday.
Instead I sat there and watched Criminal Minds, surfed the internet for awhile, and finally thought I should find a workout, but nothing was really doing it for me. My plan was to get up in the morning to do 30 Day shred, so I was looking for cardio. Since it was like 5:30 by this point, I wasn't going to go outdoors to run. This winter is shaping up to be much colder than last year, so if I do run outside it will probably be in the middle of the day before work (until I get a full time job that is).
Eventually I stumbled on Julianne Hough's workout on Youtube. It's broken into like 8 parts or something. I had a feeling it was going to be too hard to follow. But I stuck it out through at least the training bit, and the first song. She goes way to fast in the actual workout. I may keep trying it once in awhile to see if it gets better.
But I knew I still needed some more exercise so I ended up youtube-ing some just dance and dance central songs on easy. Some are not much of a workout at all, but the songs for the easy levels are kind of fun - like Vanilla Ice. But I was also able to find Lady Gaga and Black Eyed Peas on easy too. I ended up doing those for like an hour. It's a bummer that there isnt' the game aspect so there's no telling how bad I actually was. And at first I felt kind of stupid, so I wasn't really getting into it. But by the end I actually had to make myself stop because it was getting late and I needed to eat.
It makes me want a Kinect even more. I am sure I would be dancing all of the time! I am going to try to save up and see if I can't get one reasonably priced on Ebay for my birthday in April. I don't want to buy one in the store because they make you get a subscription for $15 a month and I'm not paying that much. (Edited: Just read on the web that a new XBox will likely come out for the holidays 2013, which means, perhaps I should wait a year before buying one when everyone who upgrades wants to get rid of their old one...hmm)
I didn't end up getting up early to work out this morning. I have to be on the road at 7am to work at 8am until we go back to non-holiday hours. At least I am working. I thought with reduced hours and the union rules I wouldn't be working at all until mid-Jan. So at least it's a paycheck. I know I used to be able to get out of bed at 5:30 to workout. But all I can think is that my downstairs neighbors will hate me. Once I have a normal full time job I may go back to working out then, but right now I don't have to make them miserable if I don't have to. In less than two weeks I can start getting up a little later and working out in the morning.
30 Day Shred when I get home this afternoon for sure though.

Dance Central is amazing.
I've been playing it with my sister over the holidays and having a blast.
If you plan on using the Kinect a lot it's a great investment but I'm not sure why they require a subscription for a peripheral device. I wonder where you're looking at buying. The only Xbox subscription we have is to Xbox Live but it wasn't required to buy the Kinect.
Keep up the awesome work and good luck finding a Kinect for a good price!
oooh! I just got zumba for wii.. Looking forward to try it!
