Right now I have to vent.

So this amazing job that pays so freaking well, may not be so graet after all.  I have been here a month and I am constantly being told by my co-workers all the gossip about the boss, about who's lazy, who stabs you in the back, who are the favorites, and that almost all of them would rather be working else where but that they are bound with "golden handcuffs."  An example of something I've heard: It's a union environment (after a year you have to be in it) so some of these people are making $65 and hour, yet make excuses not to work,  and are completely entrenched in their hours and shifts and can't be moved regardelss of performance or they'll file a greivance. If the boss wants to give hours to someone else he can't because someone else will file a greivance. I don't want to get into a union discussion - good or bad - there are too many sides to the issue. One guy was like "If I didn't email the boss, he'd have no clue what was going on here." What bothers me most is their willingness to talk to the newby about this stuff.  Then I find out, because I work the night shift if we close early for holidays I don't get to make up that time. So for quite a bit of December, I don't work. If I don't work I don't get paid.  And I have already given notice at the staffing agency and the assignment I was at. I know I could go back to the staffing agency, but I would feel so stupid.

It just makes me angry that I settled for this job because of the money and now it may not be so great afterall!

I guess I just got to get on with finding something else soon!

honey it could just all be gossips! Sometimes people say loads of bs just cause they think what they are saying is right..
I think you should give it a chance and see for your self how you feel about it.
AND now that you have this job you have the option of taking your time and find something you really love if you figure out that this one isn't the one for you..
