So, as I mentioned before the FH and I divied up the responsibilities based on what was important to us.
I took: Wedding Coordinator, DJ, Florist, and Photographer.
He took: Caterer, tents, and transportation for our guests.
His side was pretty easy (accept the transportation which still isn't done. He insists that it will get done though and pointed tells me not to worry about it when I do mention it) as he knew exactly who to use for both.
For me, I had to do a lot of research. The wedding coordinator was the easiest. I found some online through sites like weddingwire.com; weddingbee.com; and theknot.com. Then I went on their websites. Some were definitely more professionally presented then others. One I found seemed great the website looked good, the price was low, and then I found her business on facebook. Turns out she was brand new and started the business after planning her own wedding. And the only "coordinating" she'd done since then was her cousin's kid's birthday party.
I interviewed two people who seemed in my budget and clicked much better with one over the other. She was also less expensive because she offered a package deal or by the hour. The other lady was so stuffy. Totally all business, which is fine. But the woman I hired had a nice chat with me as well as having a professional service interview. I bought her whole package because it seemed like I'd rack up more hours than what was in the package. And it she's still $200 under my budget.
The DJ was easy too. I found one having a ridiculous sale and I can choose the music I like, plug it into a personal database and he'll create the mix, throw in other songs like it and MC. $500 under my budget there. They also offered photograph and videography, but I knew photography was something I was going to be really picky about. So I opted not to and we're not getting a video because we know we'll only watch it once.

It's important to have a good "vibe" with the people that are a part of the wedding, so I did you did a great choice there :)
You know, I didn't want to have a wedding video but my uncle insisted on having it, and he paid for it for our wedding gift.. First I was like "no one will watch it, and there is no point" but now I am really happy we got it.
The wedding day in it self was a tad stressful for me cause we planned everything alone, and it was all mostly on me - but when I finally got the video and got to watch it, it reminded me of all the amazing details that happened. So maybe you should reconsider if you have room in your budget.. Cause it's not just about watching it once, but maybe later in life your little daughter wants to see mommys wedding. So think about it :) You will never regret having it, but you might regret not having it.
Talking about DJ's.. have you decided on your song?
