So, I wrote a whole post about my excitement over a job offer. I even drafted a resignation and then I realized....

I'm never going to pass the background check....

In the cover letter I said I completed a certificate online and I have it on my resume as 2013 because when I was applying for jobs last year I thought I'd finish it this year.

I haven't.

I didn't really think anything of it because the school is international, because it's just a professional development certificate, because I never thought I'd get the job, or that they'd check. But the email I got from the guy says "educational confirmation."

The headquarters for the company that wants to hire me are in the same city as the school offering the courses I took.

I'm screwed.

My only way out is if they ask me to fill out a background form and don't put it on. Surely they only care about my bachelor's degree.

This is all sorts of shitty. I can't give two weeks notice until I get that background check OKed.

Ugh! I hope they don't care. The certificate shouldn't matter THAT much.
