New Plan:

Going for a weekly Net of  calories around 7700 that's 1100 a day.

One workout a day of Body Revolution or Running is anywhere from 250-500 calories burned. BR is always around 250/300 while running is usually about 10 calories a minute so it will depend on how long I run for with a minimum of 30 minutes.

That comes out to roughly 9500 calories intake a week. (6 workouts x 300 calories = 1800+7700)

Weekly breakdown =
M  1200
T   1400
W 1500
Th 1200
F   1400
S   1500
Su  1300

I figure, my resolve is always strongest on Monday so I started with my lowest number there. The days I run have the possibility of having a higher calorie burn so I added extra to those (W/Sa) and the weekends are also always tough so that's why those are a little higher too. I'm thinking that if I don't use all my calories, or burn more than I am estimating right now, that I will roll them over to the weekend, but if they aren't used by Sunday they're gone for the week.

I used this calculator http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ which Din Mamma left in a comment on Miranda's blog post. I used all of them except the one where you put in the number of minutes you do certain activities, because honestly I sit around 90% of my day. I'd rather go off of minimal activity and then factor in what my heart rate monitor says I burn. Oddly enough they were all really close, with in 10 calories of each other.

I'm really hoping that I can manage this plan with out restricting too much.

So, Miranda asked about Body Revolution and how it is compared to 30 Day Shred.

I think that BR is more difficult mainly because it progressed over 3 months (the first month is on par with 30DS) and it moves faster. There are more circuits squeezed into the 30 minutes (usually takes me 35 because I have to pause it sometimes) and she transitions really fast, she doesn't talk alot or give much of a break at all between moves. There're less cardio intervals too (even though I still found my HR elevated plenty and and I was sweaty as hell during the workouts)
Each circuit is done twice with a 1 minute cardio in between each. It looks like this:
circuit 1
cardio
circuit 1
circuit 2
cardio
circuit 2
etc...

I though the first month of workouts were pretty easy. But they definitely got harder to the point where I was dripping with sweat after the 1st circuit, and my heart rate was elevated even during the weight sections. In the very last workouts she adds weights to the cardio intervals and it got to the point where I couldn't keep up with the cardio parts.

I didn't use her Cardio discs. The week looks like Disc 1, Disc 2, Cardio disc, Disc 1, Disc 2, Cardio disc, Rest. I did the first cardio workout and it was very much like Insanity, which I didn't care for after the first couple of weeks, so I just run instead.  Also, they aren't meant to be total body workouts. They are front body, back body, and cardio discs.

I would say the repetition of workouts is a little better than30DS. In that one you do the same workout for 7-10 days before moving on. This one you do the workouts twice a week for 2 weeks - total of 4 times each work out and then you progress. The first month though is very similar to 30DS and Ripped in 30 in types of moves you do.  Honestly, BR reminds me of all JM workouts - 30DS, Ripped in 30, Yoga Meltdown, etc - all rolled into one with a little bit of the P90x/Insanity flavor.

It also costs alot more I got mine for almost $100 on ebay. It does have 12 discs though and a resistance cord. But you can get almost all JM's old workout dvds on youtube now a days, which is free or at a big box store for $10 or less.
Though even in BR you will still see Natalie (pink shirt)
cheat 75% of the moves if she thinks JM isn't looking.

Thanks for the breakdown on body revolution. I'm so glad to be done with a "program" that I don't want to start one again for a bit but if I do then I'll consider that one. It does sound pretty intense. Good luck with the plan. I'm pretty sure you will still drop more weight then I have even with more calories. Which is really good.
